GUJRANWALA: A National Accountability Bureau team visited Shamsabad on Friday, where 247 state kanals is allegedly under illegal occupation. Residents, however, protested outside the chief municipal corporation office against their possible eviction.

The land was acquired for the construction of a Zoo and park in the city but it was illegally sold to residents on fake document.

Residents, however, told reporters they were legal owners of the houses as they had documents of the transactions. They said they would not let the authorities demolish their houses.

Municipal corporation officers said that they had collected documents from the residents for checking and land mafia would face stern action.
