GUJRAT: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s MPA-elect from PP-68 Malakwal Mandi Bahauddin, Gulraiz Afzal Chan, has lodged a case of attempt to kidnap as well as damaging his vehicles against his rival independent candidate Qamar Khan, a renowned businessman.

The case has been registered at Malakwal police station against at least 100 supporters of the suspect. The complainant alleged in his application that he along with his brother, former MPA Waseem Afzal Chan, and Secretary Waqar Ahmed went to the office of returning officer of PP-68 on July 26 to see the results displayed outside the office.

He alleged that Khan along with at least 100 supporters started raising slogans against the results and later allegedly assaulted and tried to kidnap him. The suspects also attacked his vehicles with clubs and rods when he tried to flee from the scene, damaging at least five vehicles, Gulraiz added.

Police have also booked three brothers of Mr Khan, including Samar Khan, Zahoor Khan and Moin Khan. All four brothers are elected councillors of Malakwal Municipal Committee.
