KOHAT: Seven persons among them four children drowned in separate incidents here on Monday.

An official report said that four children between the ages of three to five years, including three brothers, a sister and their cousin, had gone to a pond to take bath in Jawaki area of Darra Adamkhel on Monday.

But, when they did not return home after several hours the family got worried and started search for them.

Later, someone told them that the children were seen going towards a rain-fed pond. The local people went to the pond and found the children dead.

The bodies were shifted to KDA Teaching Hospital.

They were identified as Iqrar Ahmed, 5, Waqar, 3, Aisha, 2, children of Aaaj Nawaz, and Sahil Khan, 5, their cousin.

In a similar incident, three young brothers drowned in a dam in Shakardarra while taking bath.

The divers pulled out their bodies after hectic struggle of several hours in the evening.

The brothers hailing from Bori Sagjri Poya area had gone to the dam in the afternoon with their friends. The victims were identified as Kashif, 13, Talah, 10 and Ibrar, 11.
