KARAK: The Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected the plea of PTI candidate for PK-85 Farid Khan Tofan for recounting of the ballot papers and asked him to approach the appropriate forum for the purpose.

Mr Tofan had approached the Election Commission of Pakistan for the recounting of the ballot papers in the said constituency.

In its reply, Election Commission of Pakistan told him that since the consolidation had been completed in PK-85 and the relevant forms were submitted therefore, the applicant might approach the appropriate forum through an election petition.

DROWN: A teenager drowned in Barani pond in Chambi area in the limits of Karak police station here on Monday.

Police said that 13-year-old Bilawal Zaman, a resident of Mithawala, was taking a bathing in a Barani pond with his other friends when he slipped into the deep water and drowned.

The friends of deceased tried to save him but they could not do so.

The local divers fished out his body from the pond after hectic struggle of few hours. After autopsy in the district headquarters hospital, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family for burial.
