Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday confirmed via tweet that he had called Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and congratulated him on his victory in the elections, and invited him to visit Kabul.
Ghani tweeted that both sides had also "agreed to overcome the past and to lay a new foundation for a prosperous political, social and economic future of both countries Afghanistan and Pakistan."
The Afghan president also said that he had invited the PTI chief to Kabul.
"I extended an open invitation to Mr. Khan and he expressed his wishes to visit Kabul soon."
According to PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry, Khan told President Ghani that Pakistan wants complete peace in Afghanistan, and that the PTI government wishes to establish better relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Khan, in his first address to the nation, had also said that his government would like to have better ties with Afghanistan. He had said at the time that peace in Pakistan is contingent to peace in Afghanistan.

A good start but I would like to caution IK that Afghanistan is not independent enough to make its commitments and adhere to them. But IK efforts and sincerity will demonstrate to the Afghanis and the world that it is not Pakistan that is a stumbling block to peace and prosperity in Afghanistan but its own leadership. This effort will also expose other external actors in Afghanistan who must do more to ensure peace in the region unless they have other hidden agenda to pursue. Anyway wish good luck to both countries.

And that is why the Indians are petrified. Pakistan will reset diplomatic relations and address it's economic situation. The Naya Pakistan will leave Indian union far behind.

I don't think the deep state will give any freedom to IK in this matter.
In case if IK is given freedom,,it is better to let the relationship evolve over a period of time.
Forcing any approach would mean more of the same illwill and mayhem.And this will take up all of the little time Pakistan would give IK to reform and progress.
