THE second massive fire incident occurred at Sunday Market, Peshawar More, Islamabad, within one year. Last year, it happened in August before Eidul Azha.
Many shops have been burnt and people lost millions of goods in that inferno. This weekly market is one of the important cheap markets for the residents of twin cities.
The question is: can’t we learn from our past? The authorities did take serious steps last time to avoid such fires. But people ask who is responsible for their losses.
The Capital Development Authority has to take this issue seriously because people cannot afford such repeated tragedies.
