RAWALPINDI: The family of three missing children began searching for them in Leh Nullah after a Rescue 1122 search reached its eleventh day on Monday.

Their search remained unsuccessful until sunset.

Zulfiqar Shah, the children’s grandfather, told Dawn that they began a parallel search in the nullah even though no one in the family had swimming paraphernalia or skills.

He said him and other men in the family combed the nullah without wading into the deep water, starting from Moti Mehal Chowk all the way to Soan.

Mr Shah said the children’s mothers had been distressed by the disappearance of their children and have been waiting for news that their children had been recovered. He said he would continue to search for his grandchildren until they are found.

Shad Hussain, 7, Farhan Malik, 7, and Zahra, 4, were swept away in the nullah close to their home in Dhoke Khaba during the heavy rainfall on June 15.
