KARACHI: The Bahadurabad police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly assaulting a seven-year-old girl, officials said.

The police arrested the suspect who was “trying to molest/abuse a little girl” in Sherpao Colony, said Gulshan SP Murtaza Bhutto. He said that timely intervention of local police and public saved the innocent child.

The police registered an FIR (No. 80/2018) under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Pakistan Penal Code on a complaint of the girl’s father.
