MANSEHRA: A huge fire destroyed five residential quarters of doctors on the premises of the Garhi Habibullah Civil Hospital here on Wednesday night.
However, no damage to public life was reported.
The local officials said the fire was caused by an electric short-circuiting and that it burnt down cash, furniture and other household goods.
They said the locals and firefighters took two hours to extinguish fire.
District health officer Dr Shahzad Ali Khan visited the area and assured doctors of the early rehabilitation of their quarters.
PML-N CANDIDATES: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Thursday named its election candidates for two National Assembly and four provincial assembly constituencies of Mansehra district.
“Except one, we (PML-N) have finalised our contenders at two national and four provincial assemblies constituency as we would repeat history of 2013 general elections winning all most all seats national and provincial assemblies here,” member of the PML-N parliamentary board Sardar Mohammad Yousuf told reporters here.
The board issued election tickets for Mansehra district constituencies.
Mr Yousuf said he was the candidate in PK-34 constituency, while his son and former MNA, Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf, would contest election in NA-13 in his place.
He said former prime minister’s son-in-law Mohammad Safdar would contest election from NA-14 and PK-33, while former MPA Sardar Zahoor was the PML-N’s candidate in PK-31 and Naeem Sakhi in PK-32.
“The consultation is under way about our candidate from PK-30, which covers entire Balakot tehsil,” he said.
