LARKANA: Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, has said that Mian Nawaz Sharif is following a set script which revolves around saving his skin even if it means harming others.

Even though Nawaz Sharif was their bitter opponent it would be wrong to level treason charges on him because of one statement despite the fact that it was wrong and irresponsible from a man who had twice remained prime minister, he said at an Iftar dinner at Naudero House on Thursday.

He advised Nawaz to desist from harming the country through such statements.

He announced contesting election from NA-200 and said people would elect him as they had been electing Benazir Bhutto and his party workers would lead his election campaign.

He said that opponents usually joined hands against PPP before elections but they always faced worst defeat at the hands of people.

Bilawal flanked by PPP Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that issues of water crisis, healthcare and education were getting worse while there was no one to speak about foreign policy.

He held the federal government responsible for all problems and said that instead of helping reduce problems, Nawaz Sharif was out to multiply them. His only concern nowadays was khalaey makhlooq, he said.

Nawaz Sharif talked about mujhey kiyoon nikala and khalaey makhlooq whenever he was asked about money trail. PML-N government’s announcement regarding Fata’s merger carried no weight with a few days ahead of election, he said.

Bilawal said that Makhdooms of Hala “are, were and will always be in PPP”. He asked who deviated from implementing 1991’s water apportionment accord.

Earlier, Mr Khuhro said that some were siding with Taliban while others who had been certified as thieves were out to damage both their party and the country.

Mr Khuhro received Bilawal when he landed at Moenjodaro airport accompanied by MNA Faryal Talpur and drove them to Naudero.

Bilawal slams Irsa in tweet

Bilawal later said in a tweet that his party would continue to protest against water shortage in Sindh and blamed the federal government for depriving the province of its due share in water.

The tweet reads: “PPP will continue to protest against Irsa’s discrimination & federal government’s callous attitude. Water shortage needs to be shared equally. Divisive policies must end. We argue with India for downstream water rights but then deprive our provinces of the same! #PaniAurBijliDoh”.
