KARACHI: Sindh Excise Department has collected Rs53.052 billion in revenue during the first 10 months of 2017-18, compared to Rs47.283bn in the corresponding period of FY17.

The provincial minister for Excise, Taxation and Narco­tics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, disclosed these figures on Tuesday in a meeting attended by high officials of the department. He said that Rs5.872bn was recovered on account of motor vehicles tax, Rs40.863bn through infrastructure cess, Rs312.489 mil­l­ion from professional tax, Rs174.272m cotton fee and Rs1.729m in property tax.
