KARACHI: Talented Parbat Kumar cruised into the final of the mens singles by beating Aqeel Shabbir in straight sets while Versha Das outplayed Yumna Malik in girls singles to reach the final in the 16th Westbury Open Tennis Championship at Karachi Gymkhana courts here on Thursday.

Zubair Raja overcame stiff resistance from Asim Gul in the under-17 singles semifinal.

U-17 Singles (semifinal): Zubair Raja bt Asim Gul 6-4, 3-6, 10-6

Soft tennis mens singles (semifinal): Eibad Sarwar bt Zubair Raja 5-0

Girls singles (semifinal): Versha Das bt Yumna Malik 8-5

Mens doubles (quarter-final): M Ali +Asim Gul bt Robin Das + Zubair Raja 8-6

Soft tennis (doubles final) Eibad Sarwar +Usama Saeed bt Parbat Kumar + M Ali 6-4.
