QUETTA: Three men were killed and two others injured in firing at shops in the Jan Mohammad road area on Sunday night.

Police said that armed men on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire at a general store and two other shops in the area, resulting in death of three persons and injuries to two others.

“Three people sitting inside the shops were killed on the spot as they received multiple injuries in upper parts of their bodies,” a police officer said.

Police and Frontier Corps personnel rushed to the area and took the bodies and the injured to Civil Hospital. The assailants, who were wearing helmets, escaped from the scene.

“We received three bodies and two injured persons,” Dr Wasim Baig, spokesman for Civil Hospital. He identified the deceased as Waqas Khan, Shabbir Ahmed and Haji Ali Khan. “It appears to be a case of target killing,” a police official said, adding that the investigation was in progress.
