OKARA: Contract-based 43 employees of the University of Okara, including a professor, have been denied salary for more than a year.

Sources said the allocated amount was released very late and only regular/permanent employees were given salaries nearly six months back. Since the varsity has been without a vice chancellor for 18 months, contracts of staff need to be renewed.

The UoS syndicate was constituted some six month which had so far held two meetings. Nearly 4,000 students are studying in 16 disciplines.
