KOHAT: Two persons were shot dead and one was injured when a van was ambushed here on Monday.

Police said accused Muhammadi Gul and his son Naseem opened fire at a moving pickup, killing Ashraf Khan and Hayatur Rehman on the spot and injuring Shahjehan in Muslimabad area near Sumari Payan.

The accused fled after the incident.

The bodies were taken to the KDA teaching hospital by the Jarma police where after completion of autopsy they were handed over to relatives, while the injured was admitted for treatment. The police registered a case against the accused persons on the complaint of the wounded Shahjehan.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead and his brother injured by rivals in Memrozai area. The deceased was named Riaz and injured Irshad. The accused were Shah Fahad, Irfan and Shahzeb.

The injured was shifted to the KDA teaching hospital. Muhammad Riaz police registered case against the accused on the complaint of Irshad and launched investigations.

In Hangu road area, a bullet-riddled body of a young man later identified as Tasleem was found in the fields.

The cantonment police registered a case against unknown assailants on the report of deceased’s brother, Jameel.
