KARACHI: Karachi Blues scored their first victory in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II cricket tournament when they overpowered Sialkot by six wickets in their second-round fixture at the TMC Stadium here on Friday.

Resuming the third and final day at 14-0, Karachi Blues reached 151-4 to claim six points after Sialkot denied lead on the first innings.

Abbottabad and Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) both gained nine points after scoring comfortable victories in their respective Pool ‘A’ matches.

Abbottabad first took the remaining six second-innings wickets of Quetta to bowl them out for 162 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Needing just 44, Abbottabad romped home in 8.3 overs with eight wickets to spare.

AJK sealed a 90-run win against Bahawalpur at the Dring Stadium in Bahaw­alpur. After extending their overnight total to 257, AJK bowled out the hosts for 214 in the second innings.
