SECURITY guards, private as well as those of law-enforcement agencies, who have been detailed to protect VIPs follow them in open SUVs on streets brandishing their weapons in a way that these are pointed at the cars following them.

This practice especially in peace time is against all norms of weapons safety which clearly state that weapons are never to be pointed at others.

Besides terrorising citizens, this can cause a grievous injury to them if these weapons go off accidentally.

The authorities concerned are requested to give explicit instructions to these guards in this regard so that no tragedy occurs.
