THE federal government decided a few years back to upgrade all lower posts with immediate effect. The Sindh government followed suit — but with the exception of lab assistants in the livestock department. This is an injustice with them as they still languish in the lower grades.

I have been working as a senior laboratory technician in the livestock department for the last 29 years. All the clerical and other lower staff have been promoted except laboratory assistants.

We have made numerous representations to the senior department officials and the minister concerned but without success.

We appeal to the Sindh chief minister to look into the matter and address our reservations.
