CHITRAL: Two women died and three others sustained serious injuries on Friday as boulders hit a number of houses here caused by intermittent rains.

Shamsia Parveen, 20, a resident of Goldur village in Chitral town, died on the spot when house of Islamuddin was hit by rolling boulders from a hillock.

The wife of Islamuddin was admitted to DHQ hospital in precarious condition.

The second incident occurred in Parkusap village of Mastuj town where a house was hit by boulders, as a result of which, mother of one Qurban Ali died on the spot while his daughter and a minor girl sustained injuries when roof of their house collapsed.

The injured were admitted to the THQ hospital Mastuj where their condition was stated to be serious.

The boulders also hit many other houses in the village but caused no loss of life.

Meanwhile, upper parts of Chitral received heavy snow on Friday while intermittent rain lashed lower regions.
