KASUR: A man allegedly shot his daughter dead for ‘honour’ here on Sunday on Eidgah Road.

Phoolnagar police said Nidah Bibi contracted marriage with Muhammad Javid against the will of her family some eight months back.

On Saturday night, her father Sharafat Ali along with his son Nasir and son-in-law Muhammad Iqbal forced their entry into the house of Javid and allegedly shot her dead. Police have registered a case against five suspects, including two unidentified men.

Later, police claimed to have arrested Sharafat, Nasir and Iqbal. Further investigation is under way.

SHOT DEAD: A quarrel over death of a pet dog claimed a life here on Sunday at village Chah Singhwala in Khudian police precincts.

Reports said Muhammad Aslam got a loader on rent to transport some luggage. Faheem, driver of the loader, was reversing the vehicle when Aslam’s pet dog was run over and killed. This led to an exchange of words between Aslam and Faheem. Later, Faheem along with his accomplices shot Aslam dead. Police are looking into the matter.
