MULTAN: The second edition of two-day Multan Literary Festival is scheduled to begin on Wednesday (today).

This edition of the literary festival is going to be held at several venues, including Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), University of Education and Multan Tea House to name a few.

The festival is being organised by Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and an organising committee has been constituted from BZU. About objectives of the festival, the organisers said the event was aimed at attaching youth through rich, centuries-old art, culture and literature of Multan.

The National Book Foundation in collaboration with national and regional publishers would arrange a book fair to promote book reading. The main activities of this event included book launchings, poetry sessions, panel discussions with young writers, leading literary and academic personalities, cultural performances and a tribute to Multan-based artists etc.

Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin, chairperson of the PHEC, along with noted literary personalities would inaugurate the festival.
