SHEIKHUPURA: A number of protesters on Friday threw traffic out of gear on Lahore-Sargodha Road for four hours against alleged negligence of traffic police.

The mob came on road after an accident in which a woman, Sanam Bibi, was killed and her nephew suffered injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that hit their motorcycle made good his escape.

Police higher-ups controlled the situation and assured the protesters that the absconding driver would be arrested.

BURNT TO DEATH: Four animals were fatally burnt and goods reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a house and an adjacent outhouse at Machrala village on Friday.

The landlord and other members of his family were asleep when a fire broke out and engulfed the entire place as well as the outhouse, where four animals were burnt alive.

The owner of the houses accused his rivals of torching his cattle and valuables.

The Warburton police are investigating.
