KARACHI, May 9: Five ships including a rice loader are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Bunga Kenari to unload and load containers, Binhtan, Passa to unload and load general cargo and Johar to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of one.

Only one ship, Orient Prosperity departed, while Santa Maria, Passat, Bow cheetah, Germana and Johar are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling at the wharves was active as the total tonnage rose to 75,316 tons from the previous 26,590 tons, comprising 7,447 tons of export cargo including 2,750 tons of rice and 67,869 tons of import.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Cape Noil, to load 20,500 tons of rice, Ams Toplgracht, with general cargo, Lalazar, with crude oil, APL Cairo, Kota Wangi, with containers and NIL, with 42,500 tons of coal.
