GUJRANWALA: Law-enforcement agencies arrested on Friday a man who had threatened the Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education chairman in an email to blow up the building.

Board Controller Nasir Mehmood Awan told Dawn the suspect, identified as Hasan, of Peoples’ Colony, had hurled the threat, after he had failed in the intermediate exam two times.

He said the boy had confessed to his crime, saying that he had done just to crack a joke.

Agencies are interrogating him at an undisclosed location.
