Pindi football stadium to be upgraded

RAWALPINDI: International standard floodlights and a gym will be set up at the Rawalpindi Football Stadium to ‘develop a new culture in the city’, chairman Steering Committee of Punjab Sports Board Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said Monday .

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the upgradation of the Pindi Football Stadium, he said Rs50 million will be spent on providing latest sports facilities, including installation of flood lights, development of gym and various other allied facilities in the stadium.

He said development of a park at 120 kanals of land at Rawal road was also underway. He said the development work of football stadium will be completed by February next year.
