QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Raheela Hameed Durrani on Sunday condemned the terrorist attack on a church in the city which claimed lives of innocent worshippers. They conveyed their sympathies to the grieved families.

In their separate statements, they said that the tragic incident proved that the elements involved in the brutal act did not belong to any religion and they even could not be considered human beings.

They said the ‘coward enemy’ was choosing ‘easy targets to show their presence’. However, they would be eliminated soon.

Mr Zehri said the purpose of the barbarian attack was to create harassment among members of the Christian community during days leading to Christmas in bid to stop them from celebrating it. He said the Christian community had played a great role in the development of the country.

The CM lauded the performance of law enforcement agencies and said their timely action had saved hundreds of lives. He directed officials to take more effective security measures to ensure safety of the people and all areas of the provincial capital.
