ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army reigned supreme by winning 22 gold and eight silver medals in the Senior Khyrogi and Poomsae event as the National Taekwondo Championship came to a close on Wednesday.
Wapda finished second with seven gold, 16 silver and six bronze medals, ahead of Pakistan Railways who won three silver and 17 bronze medals.
Some 1200 athletes and 70 clubs took part in the five-day event here at the Liaquat Gymnasium.

Senior Khyrogi & Poomsae (male and female): 1. Army (22-8-0, 681); 2. Wapda (7-16-6, 454); 3. Railways (0-3-17, 182).
U-17 Khyrogi (male and female): 1. Swat TKD Academy (2-0-2, 95); 2. Azmare TKD Academy, Waziristan (1-1-0, 25).
U-14 Khyrogi (male and female): 1. Azmare TKD Academy (1-2-2, 43); 2. Blazone Taekowndo Academy (2-0-1; 34).
U-12 Khyrogi (male and female): 1. KS TKD Academy (3-1-1, 95); 2. Sindh Green TKD Academy (2-1-2, 52).
U-8 Khyrogi (male and female): 1. Azmare TKD Academy (5-1-2, 95); 2. Shaheed Eid Mohammad Notazai (1-1-0, 25).
