KOHAT: A mentally-ill person on Sunday shot dead two brothers and injured a third, and later also killed himself in Zarghunkhel area of FR Kohat.

The political administration said that brothers Khurshid Khan, Javed Khan and Taifoor Jan were roaming in their Sher Alam village when Fareed Khan armed with a Kalashnikov opened fire on them. Khurshid and Javed died on the spot while Taifoor was seriously injured. Later, Fareed also shot himself dead.

The bodies along with the wounded man were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar where after post-mortem the bodies were handed over to relatives.

The local administration filed the case as an incident of firing by a mentally-sick person.
