LAHORE: A young man who had suffered a bullet wound in celebratory firing by some motorcyclists three days back at Lalik Chowk of Defence, died at a local hospital on Wednesday.

Abdul Hameed, 22, was a resident of Township.

Police said some motorcyclists resorted to aerial firing while doing wheelie when one bullet fired by them hit Hameed who was passing by.

On finding Hameed in a pool of blood, the motorcyclists fled the scene. The injured man was shifted to a local hospital.

The police had lodged a case against the unidentified suspects for injuring the man the same day. As Hameed succumbed to his wounds on Wednesday, the police added sections of murder in the case with no arrest.

The homicide unit is investigating the case.
