BATTAGRAM: A Chinese engineer held his marriage ceremony afresh at the Kuzabanda base camp here on Sunday evening in line with Pakistani traditions.

The engineer working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project had got married a month ago in China.

During the ceremony, the participants took the bride to a nearby Chinese camp before the engineer showed up and took her to his camp in the traditional wedding procession, barat in local parlance.

The bride wore a traditional red bridal dress, while the engineer put on sherwani, a long coat for bridegroom.

The Chinese engineers, workers and their bosses, too, wore shalwar kameez.

They said they had organised the marriage function in line with Pakistani culture to bring the people of the two countries closer.

They added that they loved Pakistan, its culture and rich traditions.

Pakistani participants said such ceremonies would help Chinese nations the local culture very well.
