LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered suspension of the Chief Executive Officer of the Toba Tek Singh District Health Authority.

Chairing a meeting which reviewed an official report on the death of three children due to poorly-handled vaccination in Rajjana village of Toba Tek Singh, here on Thursday, he said the case be sent to the anti-terrorism court. The report was presented at the meeting by Prof Dr Eice Muhammad, the head of the inquiry committee.

The chief minister further ordered formation of a committee under the prosecution secretary to monitor the case against the responsible persons “in this tragic incident”.

He further asked the health officials present there to handover supervision of the Raiwind THQ Hospital case to the committee headed by the prosecution secretary.
