Amir ruled out from ODI squad after shin injury

Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been ruled out of the upcoming one-day international series (ODI) against Sri Lanka due to a stress-related injury to his right shin, DawnNews reported on Saturday.

During the second Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates, Amir had to walk off the field after bowling just three overs during the second day due to a recurring shin injury he had sustained on Friday.

Amir underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan today, following complains of pain in his right shin, after which he was advised to rest for two or three weeks.

Amir's name was included in the squad announced on Friday for the ODI series that will start on October 13. However, following his injury, a replacement has yet to be announced.

Amir will not bowl in the ongoing Test match at the Dubai Cricket Stadium but would be available to bat.

So now Pakistan is playing rest of the test with 10 players (if counts useless Wahab Riaz) which means 3 regular bowler .... good luck team Pakistan and as we all know you are master of giving surprises so I won't be surprised if Pakistan still win this match.

IK also suffered stress fracture of shin during his career. Amir should seek advice from him as to how to overcome this problem.

PCB please make sure our fast bowlers get rest. Fast bowlers are prone to injuries and need to rest. We did this to Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan and now Amir. Fast/medium pace bowlers cannot play in all formats without sufficient rest. Not sure why Amir played the second test if he was playing the ODIs and T-20s. So now Amir cannot bowl in the second inning so we are short an attacking bowler.

Averages over 40 with the ball since returning. Has second worst figures since returning. How is he no1 bowler for Pakistan. Junaid, Hassan and an all rounder can be better bowling combined
