KARACHI: An infant was killed and his mother was injured allegedly by her brother over the issue of love marriage in Korangi’s Zaman Town area on Friday night.

Zaman Town SHO Mohammed Ashfaq told Dawn that one-and-a-half-year-old Faisal was stabbed to death while his mother Sanjeela was injured.

The wounded woman in her statement told police that she and her son were attacked by her brother Sardar and cousin Danish in their home in Gilgit Colony of Korangi area.

The SHO said that she had married Ashiq Muslim of her own accord around two years ago in Gilgit. Subsequently, the couple moved to Karachi and lived in a rented home here. Both the suspects escaped after the incident.
