LAHORE: A woman and her two daughters suffered multiple burns when her former husband threw acid on them at Jubli Town on Friday.

According to the Chuhng police, Anila was going to a local market with her daughters when her former husband Afzal, riding a motorcycle, threw acid on them and fled.

They suffered multiple burns, a police official said, adding that the three were admitted to a local hospital.

Quoting initial inquiries, he said after divorce from Afzal, Anila had married her relative. Afzal nurtured grudge and had hurled threats to Anila. The police said a case has been lodged against Afzal.

Earlier, in a similar incident, a woman, who was working at a pharmacy shop in the cantonment area, had suffered wounds when her fiancé threw acid on her face.
