RAWALPINDI: Intelligence agencies have noted 32 violations of bans on unauthorised majalis, processions and the use of loudspeakers in the Rawalpindi division so far in Muharram, but only seven cases have been registered so far.

According to police sources, there have been six loudspeaker use violations, 15 unauthorised majalis, six unauthorised processions, one provocative speech, one display of arms and three entry ban violations.

Of the 15 unauthorised majalis, 14 were held in the Rawalpindi district and one in Attock. There were three unauthorised processions in Rawalpindi and Attock each.

One case of a provocative speech was noticed in Attock, and one case of display of arms in Rawalpindi, while three cases of entry ban violations were noticed in the Rawalpindi district.

Two cases have been registered with the Rawalpindi police regarding loudspeaker ban violations, two cases have been registered regarding illegal majalis and one has been registered regarding an illegal procession. Two entry ban violation cases were also registered with Rawalpindi police.

The government has directed the police to strictly enforce the ban on unauthorised majalis and processions, and keep a check on the misuse of loudspeakers, the display of arms and provocative speeches.

However, no case of wall-chalking, route violation or time violation has been noticed by intelligence or the police so far.
