LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) retired Capt Arif Nawaz has directed the officials concerned to update police’s legal affairs monitoring app to expedite the completion of cases pending in courts.
Addressing a meeting of legal wing of the police at the Central Police Office here on Tuesday, the inspector general of police also asked them to introduce a system in the app to generate reminder messages for senior police officers to complete work on cases before appearing in courts.
The IGP also directed the police officers to submit replies in pending cases to the courts concerned, warning that no delay would be tolerated.
During the meeting, the IGP further directed the officials to introduce a new system in the app to update all police branches in every district about the number of pending cases in courts.
He also got updates about the status of computerisation of the police department’s cases pending in courts.
Additional IG (Investigations) Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG IT Humayun Bashir Tarrar and other senior officers attended the meeting.
