Raksha Bandhan

Published August 8, 2017

RAKSHA Bandhan is one of the auspicious festivals of the Hindu community and is celebrated with great joy and happiness all over the world. In the Hindu tradition, the rakhi is considered stronger than an iron chain.

It involves the tying of a rakhi — a sacred thread — decorated with colourful stones and other material. The thread is tied by a sister on the wrist of her brother with wishes for his prosperity, health and long life.

He, in return, bestows gifts upon her with a commitment to protect her unconditionally.

It is a bond of affection and selfless love between brothers and sisters. The festival brings all family members together under one roof.

Happy Raksha Bandhan to all.
