PREVIOUSLY all eight boards of Punjab announced their high school results wherein a number of students scored exceptional grades.
I am happy to learn that how eagerly and passionately our children are committed to excellence. But sadly without knowing their intelligence type, this paper qualification cannot make them globally responsible citizens.
Curricula have to be more multi-disciplinary, creative, forward-thinking, and relevant to the real world. Students need to become adept at critical thinking, innovation and communication. Pedagogy should be highly innovative and experimental to impart knowledge in newer and better ways. Our boards must adopt a well-rounded education approach so that our graduates can compete with the rising world outside.
In the race for grades without a touch of social intelligence, empathy, adaptability and confidence we may be left behind in the real and innovative world.
