THE electronic signal jammers installed by central jail authorities in the vicinity of Jail Chowrangi has made the lives of thousands of people miserable as they cannot use a basic tool of the 21st century, their mobile phones.

Areas like New Town, PIB Colony and partially Bahadurabad fall within the radius of the electronic jammers’ range.

The people accept the need for protection and security, but why should the thousands of people living in this heavily populated neighbourhood have to suffer? A cell phone is the need of the hour and people belonging to every walk of life use it frequently. Life is impossible without it.

I appeal to Sindh chief minister to look into the matter. The ideal solution would be to shift this prison to the suburbs.
