Naseem Akhtar wins IBSF World Under-18 Snooker Championsip

Sahiwal's Naseem Akhtar has won the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) Under-18 Snooker World Championship after beating China's Peifan Lei in Beijing on Tuesday.

Akhtar won five frames against Lei's three in the Best of 9 Frames game although the Chinese cueist had taken an early 3-1 lead in the game.

Expressing pleasure at his big win, Akhtar thanked the Snooker Association for their support and Pakistani people for their prayers in a video message.

Akhtar is the first Pakistani cueist to win a junior title. He earlier triumphed 4-0 against Israel's Amir Nardeia to reach the finals.

Asif had done this first in men's final and now Naseem Akhtar had done it in juniors. Efforts of Snooker Association has done it. Asif once in full form was asking the Govt for monetary help. But unfortunately delayed it and he lost his concentration. Let us hope Naseem improves his concentration as this the game of concentration.
