KOHAT: Two persons were killed and 18 others injured in two road accidents here on Wednesday.

Two Karak-bound passenger coaches collided at Sorgul Chowk on the Indus Highway, killing two persons on the spot. They were named Quedratullah and Rasool Ghulam of Khurram area. Sixteen persons were injured in the accident, who were hospitalised.

In another mishap, two passenger vans collided near Rawalpindi road interchange. Both the drivers were injured in the accident.

The Jarma and Riaz Mohammad Shaheed police stations registered cases.

Meanwhile, a man shot and killed his 14-year-old niece in Sumari Payan area over unknown reasons and fled the scene. The Lachi police filed a case against the accused on the complaint of the father of the victim and began investigations.
