TOBA TEK SINGH: Intelligence agencies personnel took into custody on Friday three people from a house on Gojra Road near municipal octroi post. They are reported to have affiliation with a certain religious party.

They were identified as Shahid Ali and Muhammad Amjad, of Faisalabad, and Sabir Ali, of Talab Bazaar, of Toba Tek Singh.

A police official said there was no information why they had been arrested.

STRIKE: Wapda Hydro Electric Union activists staged a demonstration on the second consecutive day on Friday at Fesco Complex in Kamalia and staged a sit-in demanding withdrawal of a case registered against Fesco City Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Ali Imran and 21 other employees on the complaint of lawyer Rai Nayyar Abbas Marth.

Union leaders warned if their demand was not accepted, they would shut power supply from the grid station.

Due to Fesco employees’ strike complaints of the citizens were not entertained.

Side by side, Kamalia lawyers were also on strike for the second consecutive day.

They held a general body meeting of the bar which announced banning the entry of Fesco staffers into courts of Kamalia with the demand to quash the case registered against lawyer Marth on the charge of attacking SDO Imran when he appeared before a court.

Due to the strike of lawyers, litigants faced problems.
