REFERENCE Hasnain Akhtar’s letter ‘Return on savings’ (June 16). The PML(N) government is extremely cold-blooded.

As soon it came to power, it almost halved the profits on Behbood and Pensioners Benefit accounts of the National Savings Certificates. In comparison, the Musharraf and PPP governments had increased the profits on these funds to ensure that the old and pensioners could live respectfully without begging on the streets.

The PML-N has no sympathy with the poor. Its sole interest in extorting from the old and helpless pensioners is to dole out to Benazir Income Support Programme for attracting voters.

I request all those supporting the PML-N, especially government employees, senior citizens and people around them, to understand the true character of the PML-N and sort them out at the time of voting.
