PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director General Brig (r) Farooq Naser Awan on Tuesday distributed second instalment of cheques worth Rs8.8 million among 31 affected people of a private hajj and umrah firm.

As per NAB investigation, Afridi Hajj and Umrah Services Pvt Ltd had collected approximately Rs340,000 to Rs380,000 per intending pilgrim in the garb of providing them private hajj facility.

The affected people were made to go through the entire application process besides attending training sessions in Peshawar.

The firm also distributed Ahram, bags and books among the intending pilgrims and gave them different dates for their flight to Saudi Arabia, but when the people reached the airport they found out that the company had deprived them of their hard-earned money.

During the course of inquiry the accused persons accepted their guilt and agreed to return the looted money to the affected people.

The DG NAB assured the general public that the bureau would continue efforts without any fear or favour and ensure the recovery of looted money from the culprits and return to its rightful heirs.
