ISLAMABAD: A son of former inspector general of the capital police Bani Amin Khan has accused a senior officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of abducting and torturing him, the police said on Tuesday.

“He used his official guards from the Frontier Constabulary (FC) to abduct me,” Ali Amin alleged in his complaint to the police.

The police said the elder son of the former IGP was abducted from a petrol pump in F-8.

“Saifullah Khan along with his five to six FC guards approached me and asked me to accompany him. On my refusal, he asked his guards to bundle me into a car. The guards beat me and snatched the keys of my vehicle. They dragged me into a car on gunpoint.” The complainant said the suspects took him to a house on Johar Road, F-8/4, where Saifullah asked him to hand over his Mercedes to him.

On my refusal, Saifullah and his guards again beat me with the butts of SMGs and pistols.

He also accused them of snatching two mobile phones along with a purse containing documents and Rs55,000 cash and detaining him in a room.

The next day, he was bundled into an Altus and driven to a market in F-8/4 by two FC personnel and pushed out there.

“I hired a taxi from there and reached my house in G-9,” he added.

The Margalla police registered a case against the suspects under different sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.

When contacted on Ali Amin’s mobile phone, a man received the call and said Ali Amin was being examined by a doctor.

Investigation officer of the case, ASI Abdul Hameed, told Dawn that there was no rivalry between Ali Amin and Saifullah Khan and they were friends. “The reason behind the incident is not known as the investigation of the case has been taken from me and given to the investigation wing.”

Saifullah Khan, an assistant director in NAB, also got a case registered against Ali Amin, he said. Besides, he also obtained an interim bail from the court.

The Margalla police said the case was registered against Ali Amin in response to a complaint lodged by Islam Badshah, a security guard of Saifullah Khan.

In the complaint lodged on June 4, Mr Badshah said on May 24 at around 2:40am Ali Amin along with others entered the house of his employer. “He was drunk and using foul language. He pulled out a pistol and opened fire at me when I asked him to leave the house. As a result, I received a bullet to my shoulder,” he stated in the FIR.

The security guard said he along with others overpowered Ali Amin and snatched the weapon from him.

“I got treatment from a private hospital and left for my village. Now I came to know that Ali Amin has got a false case registered against Saifullah Khan,” the FIR stated.

When contacted by Dawn, Islam Badshah said: “I cannot speak Urdu.”
