GUJRAT: Another PPP stalwart from central Punjab and former federal minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal and his brother ex-PPP MNA retired Maj Zulfiqar Gondal of Mandi Bahauddin will formally join the PTI on June 6 (Tuesday).

Nazar Gondal confirmed to Dawn by phone that he along with his family and political group from his constituency NA-109 would formally join the PTI at Banigala. He said he had a long association with the PPP that was why he took the decision after discussion with his supporters.

He said: “It had become difficult for me and my associates to put up with the [PPP] leadership’s soft opposition policy towards the [ruling] PML-N.” He accused the PML-N of victimising his supporters in Mandi Bahauddin. Earlier, PPP’s Ghazanfar Gul and former minister Firdous Ashiq Awan had joined PTI.
