RAHIM YAR KHAN: A dacoit gang of Katcha area on Tuesday gunned down two kidnapped men when a police team chased them and during the encounter law enforcers killed one of the suspects and injured four others in Bhong area, some 60kms from here.

Reports said the Lund gang, including Manzoor Lund, Eissa Lund, Nasrullah Lund, Ghamni Gopang and Alu Imrani, abducted contractor Abdul Haseeb Paryar and his gunman Kora Khan Jharkani from Qadirpur locality for ransom.

In response, Bhong police along with an elite team, chased the criminals near Jewan Mor. On seeing the police, they gunned down Haseeb Paryar and Kora Jharkani. In the shoot-out, police personnel killed Manzoor Lund while his accomplices escaped towards the Katchi Lund area.

The police recovered Manzoor’s body, along with a Kalashnikov and bullet rounds.

On the other hand, in a social media video, Jiand Shar of the Shar gang warned against police interference in their territory, threatening direct confrontation.

Police spokesperson Said Ali Wains confirmed that District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal visited the encounter site and issued necessary directives.
