Pakistan's first-ever Chinese language weekly newspaper, Huashang, was recently launched in Pakistan and is targeted largely towards Chinese embassy staff, nationals and employees of Chinese companies.
The weekly also boasts an English version to its primarily Chinese publication.
With its head office located in Islamabad, Huashang publishes 5000 copies every week, with the publication hitting 60,000 readers this past week as the newspaper released its 21st edition in Pakistan, hoping for a bright future for Chinese language journalism in Pakistan.
Huashang's headquarters reflects Beijing's atmosphere, according to BBC Urdu.
The newspaper's Facebook page states that it was launched following the "One Belt One Road" initiative, with an aim to advance "enterprise-depth cooperation between China and Pakistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor".
Huashang's chief editor told BBC Urdu that the newspaper is particularly working on business in Pakistan and China.
Meanwhile, the newspaper's editorial policy is also meant to highlight culture, tourism and recreational activities in both countries.

Good move by Pakistan. More and more Chinese businesses and companies are anticipated to move in Pakistan. Future of Pakistan is very bright and China will turn Pakistan into Hong Kong of South Asia. Pakistan must be prepared with cultural changes.

Learning the philosophy of Tao(Taoism), Mao, and Confucius...China is not just all about manufacturing and big economy, the basic fundamentals of philosophical thoughts like Confucianism, Taoism are all deeply rooted and provides a strong base.
Then there is enlightenment from ZEN Chinese model of meditation...lot of things to learn from China.

@Sheraz all universities in United States teaching chinese, is America becoming chinese colony. why Pakistan has not an American or British colony as every school is teaching English. India is having world biggest english speaking population, why India cannot be called British colony.

@Concerned , It's not about daily or other day yo day business . Irony is that both India and Pakistan are against each other for land dispute whilst China forcefully took away large land in 60s and now getting big land without any force kind a walk in the park. To be honest no choice there as it would have taken away anyways by money or by force.

@usman It is easier to predict the responses because it is the truth, and all of us Indians, be it a Punjabi or Bengali or Tamil or a Marathi like me, from different walks of life with different perspectives, look at those things and arrive at the same conclusion.

Reading/speaking other languages is a always good thing, I personally know many Pakistanis who are speaking fluent Mandarin its a good thing to do and it's getting popular to speak Mandarin :) Language brings people together. India and Pakistan language similarity is big blessing, it gives us that feeling of brotherhood, which no one can take it away :)

Start by promoting literacy in the country where most people can't read or add 2 small numbers . Great if we want to learn a Chinese language too .
Maybe the dawn should have a Chinese version to gain readership in China . The whole problem here is we talk about the fringes and the problems of the rich and educated . Our real problem is the uneducated masses who have had an exponential decline in knowledge right when the rest of the world went on an exponential quest for knowledge . Here if you are girl child who goes to school and have an opinion your odds of getting shot in the face are higher than not getting shot in the face and there is where the real problem sits.
