Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took notice of an employer in Punjab's Sheikhupura cutting off her domestic help’s hand.
The chief justice instructed the Inspector General Police of Punjab to submit a report on the incident within two days.
Justice Nisar took notice of the incident after media reports claimed that the lady employer allegedly cut the right hand of her 13-year-old domestic help with a fodder machine.
The local police registered a case against four people on Tuesday on the orders of a lower court for allegedly chopping off help's hand.
Jannat Bibi, the boy’s mother, moved the district and sessions judge who directed the police to register a case.
The police registered the case against the employer Shafqat Bibi, her brother Zafar Tarrar and two others and arrested Zafar.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also sought a report from the Sheikhupura regional police officer about the incident.
He said the culprits involved in torture and amputation of hand of the boy be arrested and should be dealt with according to the law.

These low life barbaric animals cutting hand of a young boy must be punished. They must be barred from hiring any domestic help plus they must required to attend classes about treating their employees.

Utterly barbaric ...you know why these crimes are so common cos there has never been any exemplery punishment given to the culprits cos of their social status..in a society where laws are used just to safe guard the interest of the elite, feudal, government officials, is nothing but a deep scar on justice...I know justice is supposed to have a blind fold but they have got ears plugs as well..who listens to their cry for it is nothing but a cry in the wildness..indeed sir your action is sending a tiny ripple across the country that there is a ray of hope .

Make neccessry laws and reforms for the security of poor houshold-helping workers and get those reforms implemented immediately. This cruelty and barbaric acts of ignorant employers against poor houshold-workers are getting out of control.

@rashid ansim I don't see any fault of the country. First step control polpluation so you don't have to send children for work . If the employer find guilty punished them along with parents. This nation have all kind of emotions but no common sense.

They must do same to all those arrested employers. Let them never forget their crime. Compensation from employers wealth by selling their house should be given to boy and it should be huge to see him through life.

The property of the accused should be confiscated and given to the boy for lost revenue incurred due to a lifelong disability which they caused. This should be followed by amputation of their own hand in likeness of what they perpetrated on the poor boy.

It is a open and shut case of low life democracy that has degraded a society in to unruly mob that has resorted to terror, lynching of people, torture of children and murder of women, through creating a void of rule of law and justice, converting them in to profitable and lucrative commodities than can be purchased with money or contemptuously tossed in trash bin by the powerful. As for people like you and there are many, they express their horror on the day but the day after, they are totally unconcerned, uninterested and unmoved as if nothing had happened. Child labour must be banned and unfortunately ultimately parents will withdraw the case only by receiving cash like in Tayyaba case, a young innocent child who was treated inhumanely by her employer.
