SHEIKHUPURA: The Safdarabad police registered a case against four people on Tuesday on the orders of court for allegedly chopping off the right hand of a 13-year-old servant.

Irfan, son of Falak Sher, was a domestic help in the house of Shafqat Bibi at a Rs3,000 salary. A couple of days ago, the boy demanded his salary and food which angered his employer. She allegedly cut his right hand with a fodder cutting machine. He was shifted to a local hospital.

The Safdarabad police refused to register a case when the family approached them.

Jannat Bibi, boy’s mother, moved the district and sessions judge who directed the police to register a case.

The police registered the case against Shafqat Bibi, her brother Zafar Tarrar and two others and arrested Zafar.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sought a report from the Sheikhupura regional police officer about the incident. He said the culprits involved in torture and amputation of hand of the boy be arrested and should be dealt with according to the law.
